Raised in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Born to a father who was a member of the band Milk Chocolate and a mother, the owner of a dance-studio, the Creole/Haitian offspring could not escape the performing bug and even wished to get into her TV to perform with the people on it!

After pulling through challenge after challenge on MTV’s Making the Band 3, she made it as the 5th member of R&B quintet Danity Kane. What Dawn is most admired for by her legions of fans is her determination and will power to continue with chasing her dream despite losing her home and all her belongings in Hurricane Katrina just before the final while on a break from filming. She maintained a glowing smile throughout.

Before Making the Band 3, Dawn had been attending college studying marine biology before transferring to the University of New Orleans under full scholarship to study Marketing with a minor in marine biology. She then transferred to Baltimore after Hurricane Katrina to continue her education.

Dawn also ventured into recording a solo album before joining the MTV series and performed all over New Orleans. Some of her songs can be heard on her myspace site. Dawn remained dedicated to dancing by performing with the New Orleans Hornets for 2 years. Her skills earned her the place of team captain in her second year as part of the Hornets.

While her career with Danity Kane is blossoming, Dawn has remained close to her parents and her brother. Her positive relationship with her parents even survived them showing up at a school dance and the DJ announced that her parents were waiting for her. Her darling father was in his PJ’s waiting for her.

Dawn admits to sleeping with her closet door closed incase the boogeyman gets her. Not a great combination with her worst nightmare of a killer chasing her and when she would escape and try to find help, they would be zombies and they would try to kill her too. Poor Dawn, it’s a wonder she sleeps at all!

Dawn’s interests include walking backwards which she finds exhilarating and developing her professional orange peeling skills. She is a firm believer that monkies don’t have beards as they don’t want to be too hairy and that penguins do indeed have knees as they are able to tap dance. She also declares her love for small people and promised not to eat any.
