About Danity Kane

Danity Kane were the product of MTV and Diddy's Making the Band 3. The show had to run over 2 seasons to find the group, member Aubrey and Aundrea (along with Malikah who didn't make the final band) were promoted to the 2nd season so that they could peruse their dream of making the band. In the 2nd season there were many more new contestants trying to take a place in the band, Dawn, Wanita(D.Woods) and Shannon succeeded. So the final band consisted of Aubrey, Aundrea, Dawn, Shannon and Wanita (D. Woods). The episode that created the group was the highest rated MTV show ever.

They then began working on their debut album while filming the 3rd season of the show. This season showed the group struggle both personally and professionally, it also showed them shoot their first video for their single "Showstopper" and pick the name of Danity Kane. The name Danity Kane came from an anime character that Dawn drew called Danity Kane, It was something that they could define not having it define them.

After season 3 ended there was a doubt that Danity Kane would just put on a shelf and be seen as another reality TV group but they would soon be proven wrong. Danity Kane self titled album went on sale on the 22nd of August 2006 and went straight to #1 on the US Billboard charts and is now certified platinum.

They have recorded one more season of Making the Band which is premiering on the 28th of January which follows the recording process of their 2nd album along side with Making the Band 4 cast. They have currently finished recording their 2nd album which should be released in March 11th.
